How to know what computer parts are compatible?
How do you know if the graphics card and motherboard will work together? Or the Processor and RAM? How do you know that stuff? Or do you just by all the parts and as long as they are upgraded and have the right size and shape they will work? I know how to put a computer together, I just don't know how people know what parts can go with what.

- do some research? theres no formula lol....
- Go to a computer shop that supplies computers to order. Get a written quote from them to assemble a computer for your particular needs and it will state which motherboard, processor, RAM etc. etc. Have a look at the labor component and then decide whether you would be better off just buying one from them or buying the components as listed and putting it together yourself. At least you'll know that the components will all work together. You may want to repeat getting the quote with a couple of other shops.
- well you could try to just look at the teeth of the part and the teeth where it goes. for example, if the teeth of the part are above from the teeth of the computer, then it is probably compatible.
