Anyone know a good computer parts supplier? I am starting a computer repair business and would like to find somewhere with reasonable prices on components. I like TigerDirect and Newegg, but I absolutely HATE dealing with the hassle of mail-in-rebates. Can anyone recommend a good supplier with competitive prices? Thanks for your help!
Need some computer parts suppliers/vendors for resale? I am in the process of starting my own computer repair company and hope to soon add sales to my business and I am needing to know some good online computer parts companies that I may order parts for resale. Thank you!
What are the best computer part suppliers/distributers? I am thinking of possibly buying in bulk if possible or get a deal of some kind. Which suppliers/distributers have good reputation, are reliable and efficient? Any recommendations? NOTE: I am looking for suppliers that don't mind me assembling these parts and selling the system as a whole
How do we become a retailer of computer parts and devices? I am asking this on behalf of a friend. My friend plans to start a business selling computer spare parts such as motherboard, RAM cards, DVD drives, hard discs, RJ45 cables, etc. However, he doesn't know how to order the supplies from the suppliers. In what way does suppliers supply these products? How can he order these products? What is the minimum quantity he need to order these products? Must he place so sort of guarantee? What exactly must he do? He has enquired the suppliers, but they were not very helpful. Some of them even expect him to know. MaddaCheeb: Thanks for your help.
socially responsible computer parts? do you know if AMD, Intel, or any of the major parts suppliers have used any socially questionable techniques to manafacture their computer parts?
Is there any way to verify authenticity of a supplier from China ? My company imports computer parts and peripherals from Hongkong. Recently we are getting very competitive rates from some of the parties in china. But since we haven't done any business in past we are not pretty much sure about them. So, just wanted to find a way to check out their authenticity. Are they genuinely doing business or they are phony ? We all know there are a bunch of scammers all over these days and internet has made them even easier to make approaches.
What parts for a pretty good gaming computer? I'm needing to move on to a new computer that can play new current games, and games to come in about the next five years with fairly minimal upgrades. I'd want it to be able to play games like LOTR Conquest, Sims 3, Empire: Total War, etc. and games that come out in the next 3 or 4 years. I want to assemble it myself with bought parts, and have not quite perfect but pretty good performance. Does anybody know ALL of what I'd need? Please list them. And could someone reccomend a good supplier of parts? Thanks a Million!! Well, I guess 2 years with only minor upgrades would be more reasonable.

Where can you buy cheap computer parts for business? Hi I have seen many people on ebay selling computers so cheap which they have made themselves. If you try to buy those parts from websites like ebuyer amazon or any other and put the cost together it comes to at least £100 more than what they are selling at. How do they manage to get such a low price? Where do they buy parts from? I have been searching this a lot looking for suppliers or anything but didn't succeed at all. I would be grateful if anyone can help. Thanks Sorry I am from UK. They might not be of good quality but I still can't find them anywhere. I am searching for couple of days now. I try to look for exact same model of parts they have used in their pc and even using them and making a pc with them comes to a really high cost for me. Just curious how they manage to get the same parts so cheap.
What do I need to start a Custom Computer business? What licensing would I need(btw im in California), where could I get parts(suppliers/manufacturers/etc) at a true wholesale price(i.e. business2business purchasing not advertised sales to public at a "wholesale price")

Computer Jumpers? I need the jumpers for a computer. I need part number and supplier. This is for a project at work. I have to buy them with a part number. I need a retail supplier that has a part number. Thanks Brad
confused about computer memory? I want to up grade my computer memory. Different suppliers give conflicting part identification. How would I interpret what the numbers/letters on the memory module mean. This one is typical: 1GB DDR333 PC2700 ,184p DIMM.2.5VOLT, SYNC, CL=2.5. Here is another: 1GB 400MHZ DDR400 PC3200,184p DIMM,2.5v,SYNC. The onlythings I understand are the GB,VOLTS and 184 PINS. Thanks for your attention.
How easy is it to build your own PC? From what I can gather, once the main motherboard + processor is fitted into the desired case, you need to slot in the relevant PC cards + Drives ,connect the cables , then load up the the Operating system and then the other s/ware. Surely, there must be alot more involved - What problems/pitfalls would there be? Can someone reccommend a good parts/kit supplier or maybe instead details of someone who bulids machines to order ? I have already tried MESH computers, but not truely a fully fledged custom machines provider and quite expensive too.
Refund on gaming computer purchased on the internet via debit card.? Hi, i recently purchased a computer for £600 from an internet company, i paid by debit card on 28th november of last year and it arrived 2 weeks before christmas. 3 weeks ago the motherboard broke and needs replacing which the company have agreed to do, however i took the computer to a repair shop to have a diagnostic done and they basically said that the system is poorly built: the rear panel does not fit the casing, the rear fan is not for a gaming pc, the power supply is not standard of a gaming system, the mother board is not a recommended mother board for a gaming system as it will only support one graphics card. the only parts to the computer which are suitable is the 3 x 2GB ram chips and the nvidia GEFORCE 9400 gt graphics card. after hearing this i want to return the system and opt for another from a different supplier. the question is, under the circumstances listed above is there a legal obligation of the company to refund me? i have heard that all items bought on debit card come with a 1yr warranty but i don't know if that affects it. Thanks for your advise in advance
My Gaming computer Need Help!!? OK! I got a MSI Radeon 4890 1 GB GDDR5 Pci Express 2.0 I need help finding rest of the parts for my computer :( I want to spend about 700-800 more Canadian dollars on this without the video card. and I have a general idea of what I want. :) I want a core i7 what is the difference between these two. I know one is 2.8 and other is 2.66 other than that. http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct& cmd=pd&pid=020622&cid=CPU.840 and http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=025303&cid=CPU.840 For the mother board I was thinking a MSI one. I just don't know what.... Ram... I know I want DDR3 4-6 GB again don't know what to get. as for the case. I was thinking a Antec Three Hundred hopefully the mother board can fit in this. HDD somewhere around 250- 500 depending on the price. Please give me your input on the parts I should get. Thank you in advance. :)
Computer chassis manufacturer suppliers? Where do the major computer case manufacturers get their basic parts? Such as front I/O panels, on/off switches and buttons and the such? Where do the major computer case manufacturers get their basic parts? Such as front I/O panels, on/off switches and buttons and the such? I ask this because I am designing a new case right now, and I have noticed that alot of the aftermarket case manufacturers all use the same or similar components such as I listed above. Now if I could just find where they get their components that they don't manufacture themselves, it will save alot of time and money when it comes to my own manufacturing process.
I need help checking over the components of my first computer build.? Hi, I am about to embark on my very first computer build. Can somebody check over all the parts before I purchase them to tell me if this will overall make a good computer for the price, and what kind of performance to expect for gaming and in general. Also if you could tell me if there is anything I am overlooking, or missing such as wires or cables. Or even if you know of any similar or even better components that are less expensive, and possibly a more affordable supplier than tiger direct? Any suggestions are welcome!! Replacing circuit boards on a Plasma TV? My authorized Philips TV repair man has diagnosed the problem on my plasma TV but apparently is not able to get these parts through his only authorized supplier. With that said, I have found the parts available, there are 3 boards, 2 CBA Y-BUF boards and 1 CBA Y-BD board.(whatever those are) Having never looked inside a plasma tv, I'm wondering if I can change these boards myself. Do I need any special tools? I'm very "handy" but not experienced in working with circuit boards except changing the inside of computer parts... video cards, processors etc.... and those just "plug" in. My question, does it seem reasonable for me to change them myself, and what am I getting myself into?

Where's the best place to get electronic parts? In the past I would just buy any electronic parts that I needed from my Computer Engineering teacher at school for discounted prices (since the school orders huge amounts at a time), but unfortunately I have run out of some things that I need (resistors & logic gates, mainly). I know that my school orders from a company called DigiKey, but I'd rather not have to order the parts (they don't have any nearby suppliers, either). So I was wondering where the best places would be to find electronic parts, as I've yet to find any nearby places that cater solely to electronic parts. Are there any larger companies that sell what I need? What kinds of stores would likely carry these things?
New Computer Business? I want to start my own computer consulting business during the christmas holidays. I am a Junior in college right now, studying MIS and Speech Communications. What services can I offer doing this business from home part time? What companies should I target, and how do I make them aware of my business? I want to design websites, do I have to get domain names from a supplier eg. yahoo? Or can I get them cheaper/ free elsewhere? I need your suggestions. Thanks in advance!! Joseph T... thanks for your suggestsions. I know that there are ways to get free domain names, byt they are usually just sub domains. I prefer .com domains. I have designed a website before, but through Yahoo. The reason I am starting during the Xmas season is b/c I will be doing a website for my dad's company. I want to get more experience in my field so that when I graduate I won't be totally clueless. Camille
Where could I find Computer components to buy at Wholesale in Kolkata? Hi there! I'm newly shifted to Kolkata. And I've registered to eBay.in recently. After using ebay for a couple of days I found I could sell items here. As I was purchasing some components for my own PC from Chadni Chowk, at Kolkata, I took some other items as well to sell them on ebay. I did sell those items, but I found that I wasn't making that much. It's because I noticed that all the items that I was selling were already posted by other sellers on ebay on prices that were equal or a little lesser than the price with which I'd purchased. So, I figured out that these sellers must be buying these stuffs from some wholesale market. So, I also decided to do just that in Kolkata. I'll buy these Computer stuffs from some wholesale stockist/supplier in Kolkata and post them on eBay. I think it'll work for me quite good as a part time income. This is why I was looking for some wholesale Computer Mart at Kolkata, but as I don't know Kolkata much, it's really getting hard for me to find that. Which is why I thought of help. Could you suggest me any place? Or is there any site or anything from where I could get all these informations about Kolkata?
solve the question of cost mba 2smester? ASSIGNMENT WORK: Bell Computers, LTD., located in Liverpool, England, assembles a standardized personal computer from parts it purchases from various suppliers. The production process consists of several steps, starting with assembly of the “mother” circuit board, which contains the central processing unit. (The currency in England is the pound, which is denoted by the symbol “£”.) Required: 1. How many units were stared and completed during January? 2. What were the equivalent units for January for material and conversion costs? 3. What were the costs per equivalent unit for January? The following additional data are available concerning the department’s cost: Particular Total£ Material£ Conversion£ Work in Process, January 01 26,800 18,000 8,800 Cost added during January 175,600 114,000 61,600 4. What could the job title of a production worker be? I'm writing a CV and I don't know what I could call my previous part-time job. I worked on a production like to manufacture perfume bottles but I alternated shifts between doing phone and computer work, dealing with suppliers etc. "production worker" just sounds a bit crap, and doesn't mention the dealing with cash/customers aspect Any ideas? Thanks
Why won't my replacement LCD panel work for Compaq Laptop? I'm replacing the LCD panel on a Compaq Presario F700. The original screen was cracked but you could still make out parts of the screen and it was still backlit. I ordered a replacement and when i installed it there was nothing on the screen at all. I sent it back to get yet an other replacement and it still won't work. The old panel still shows parts of the screen and backlight and i can also hook up to an external monitor and it works fine. Why won't it take a replacement screen? is it possible to get two dead screens from the part supplier? I don't think it is the LCD inverter because then the old screen wouldn't work either. Is there some type of setting i have to make for the computer to recognize the new screen? Also, when i use the external monitor and go to display settings in windows, it recognizes the default monitor but it won't switch to it or power it on.
What if I am legitimately more qualified than my boss? OK, I'm trying to describe my working dilema. I've been re-introduced to a company after my old boss found another job, his assistant, my replacement, re-hired me and got named as new manager. Long story short, I truly thank her for the opportunity to be working in the job I was truly seasoned for, but at the same time, I truthfully cannot give her managing performance a thumbs up. I tried to bite my lip at first, but I can no longer play this sad game of charades. -she’s not computer literate, that’s a must in this field, you can’t slide on that, I tried instructing her but my patience dried out. -we are clientele based, and she is either a robot or outright mean to our clients. ~I know all 390 people on a first name basis -she took a call from a rep of our parts supplier personally and cussed her out in front of clients, I thought right there and then we were out of a job that minute. ~I spent 40 minutes apologizing to that poor lady. -When she writes emails to police and court officials, she uses all caps terms like OMG and LOL and instead of “Scott” it’s “sCOTT” ~I don’t do any of that -When she gets done talking phone wise to court clerks/probation officers WHO BY THE WAY refer our clients she says “Gaw what a f**king b*tch!” ~I treat everyone with dignity and respect, taking nothing personal. It’s the way my parents raised me. And really, POs and clerks are cool people -She’s hypocritical in the sense she’s threatening that business is slow and this location is being closed two weeks after we were approved $2100 to re-carpet, repaint, and re-ceiling the suite, and 2 months after HQ signed a 2 year extension on the suite ~ -She won’t let me leave a floor mat path on rainy days (pics available) since people can catch their feet, trip, get hurt and sue us. Then a week later she leaves a plug-in heater in the middle of the waiting room (again, pics available) where people can trip on the cord or heater itself fall face first into the heater and really burn themselves ~I seem to be the only one mopping and tidying up the place -Her friends are either doing time, or just got out of jail. She also takes personal calls for hours at a time. ~I’m single and my friends are married and don’t need me. -With call forwarding, she doesn’t answer phone calls in the morning. If a prospective client gets their court ordered list of area shops, and one doesn’t answer THEY DON’T CALL AGAIN, they move to the next phone number on the list. Her contribution? She goes through her morning’s missed calls at 3PM. ~I got into the habit of showering at 7am instead of 11am, because 11am is when the phones peak. I even call neighboring counties to see if we’re on their out-of-town lists of shops in town. No one in the company did that before me. -She has bad memory comprehension, again a must in this field, and literally cannot remember what happened two hours ago. ~I remember everything, and everyone. -Last week, she spent 90 minutes on the workbench resolving an iPhone snafu, and attacked me verbally when I told her I couldn’t work for the last 90 minutes since I was waiting for her to wrap it up. ~I spent those 90 minutes sweeping floors and cleaning the facilities, while she cussed out Apple tech support. I’m making personal sacrifices to overhaul this company and I’m not seeing the same out of her. I’m traveling sometimes 150 miles a day to track people, I’ve been up until 3 am working on a revamp project, all I seem to be getting from her is obstacles. I don’t see this company benefitting with her in her post. What should I do?!
Whats Better? Computer VS Laptop? Hey There, I will be going off to university this fall, and was wondering what I should have for university. Should I get a laptop or a desktop computer? Presently, laptops are more convenient due to their ease of mobility compared to their counterpart which is not. I have several scenarios- 1) Buy a powerful laptop which will do everything from MS Office to power video games. It will also be used for media purposes- Ex: television, music movies. Programs such as CS4 will be used as well. Drawback with this idea- Expensive, especially if I would need 4GB ram, 512mb video card, and min 320GB hard drive. Also, I would be using it non-stop so I would be scared that I would destroy my battery due to over exposure. *Could someone confirm this statement whether it be true/false "When your laptop is plugged in, it does not affect the battery whatsoever meaning that if your computer is on and plugged in, and your using it nonstop, it will not wear the battery out unless it is not directly plugged into an electrical socket* Also, it may be heavy due to the fact it would be powerful and possibly bulking. 2) I would buy a desktop computer which would be stored in my dorm room meaning that I wouldn't have a laptop at my disposal in class. I would have a powerful PC, 4GB at least, terabyte hard drive, 1GB video card, etc. 3) Buy both desktop PC and Laptop. It would be rather expensive, but I wouldn't go all out on an expensive laptop. I would just buy a mini laptop. Something that would do me over for university only. It would be light, portable, fast and efficient, and definitely wouldn't be unresponsive in class since I would only be running MS Office and would store documents etc. I would than have a PC back in my dorm room which I would build to defer the costs. Newegg.ca supplies parts for low prices, so that means I could that as a main computer for gaming, video, music, movies etc. Also, if there was a file I needed to access from my PC in my dorm room, I could remotely via laptop. What do you think would be the better choice. I want something that's going to give me a bang for my buck, but also be piratical as well. Also, because I live in Canada, anyone know of some good suppliers, or know where I could get a miniature laptop? Examples: http://labs.vnunet.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/05/25/asus_and_hp.jpg Also, if you have any other alternatives, I'm open! Thanks! Neil
How do I access lpt1 on a win xp computer exactly the same as on a win98se computer? I have a computer that did have win98se as an OS on it, and a program that accessed the lpt1 for reading and writing, I have had to switch that same computer to use windows xp home edition. The program I had on the same computer using win98se worked fine but now that this same computer now has winxp home on it the program works up to the part that it accesses the read write function of the lpt1 at which point it cannot find the device the program controls. I have been told that win98se would read and write direcctly to the lpt1 where winxp home does something to correct a security problem with the lpt1 which make my program fail when accessing the lpt1. You might say "use the compatability mode" I have tried this but it does not change the way the program can access the lpt1. I have tried the vmware virtual computer program and use it to load a copy of win98se then run the program which works perfectly this way. But I don't want to have to have two complete operating systems on my computer and I do not want to have to wait so long for the vmware to load win98se and then the program just to use it. Nown you might also say to contact the program supplier, well I did and here is the solution according to them, purchase the new program that fixes this problem. Well the original program cost me $1500.00 just a year ago and the wonderfull company sells the new program for a fantastic price of $1500.00, I am not happy that this company will not give me a product support upgrade for a lesser price when the only differance is that it works on xp, the program is good but not worth $3000.00. You might also say just go back to win98se, well because of networking and other programs that our company switched to that is also impossable. I am thinking that if vmware can access the lpt1 the way win98se did there must be a way to do the same in winxp without needing to take the time and space needed to use this program in vmware under winxp home. Is there a driver that will let xp use the lpt1 exactly the way win98se did? Is there something I could "set" in xp to get the lpt1 to work the same as it did in 98se? It just seems like there are so many ways to still use this program but none of them seems to allow it to work in xp directly without going threw a tone of crap to get it to work. Please help if you know a way. By the way, I do know my systems fairly well and can use regedit without fear and I know how to get around the computer very well, like I know what the bios is and what it does and how to change thing in it, and other more thing that the average user normally doesn't know how to do.
how the hell can i get my computer working?!?! (cpu or mobo problem)? hi guys, im now seriously desperate to get my computer working, i am building it myself and and after weeks of collecting the parts (all new) and having the wrong board sent and sending it back i have everything. it consists of: asus m3n-ht deluxe/mempipe antec earthwatts 650 (650 watts) amd phenom 9950 (quad core) kingston hyperx 1066 (4gb) i left the other components out as i dont think they are relivant, I cant even get to the bios beep codes! THE PROBLEM IS: after putting it all together i powered on for the first time, all the fans started up and then turned off after 3-5 seconds, (a click came from the psu like a trip switch) and then it turns on and tries again over and over again. IM STUCK i have tried everything but i am lost. i have tried: running the mobo with just cpu and ram installed (out of case and on an antistatic pad to prevent shorting) renewing the thermal compound, checking and double checking the cables and connections, sending back both the mobo and the cpu to be tested (to two different suppliers) they both came back apparently working perfectly. i have also tried 3 psu's 350w 450w and 650w so unless it needs more power it shouldn't be that and have spent hours on forums trying to discover the problem but now i am desperate! does anyone know what this may be? if not when setting up could someone tell me the most simple way to set it all up (e.g the least components involved) so i can determine whats wrong thanks all, any advice will be very appreciated regards jules

The company recently hired a new accountant who prepared the following partial production report for the department for January using the weighted-average method: Quantity Schedule: Units to be accounted for: Work in process, January 01 10,000 (Materials 90% complete; Conversion 80% complete) Started into production 58,000 Total units 68,000 Units accounted for as follows: Completed and transferred out 60,000 Work in Process, January 31 8,000 (Materials 75% complete; Conversion 50% complete) Total units 68,000 Total Cost: Cost to be accounted for: Work in Process, January 01 £ 26,800 Cost added in the department 175,600 Total cost £ 202,400 Cost Reconciliation: Cost accounted for as follows: Completed and transferred out £ 186,000 Work in Process, January 31 16,400 Total cost £ 202,400 The company’s management would like some additional information about January’s operation in the CPU Assembly Department. (The currency in England is the pound, which is denoted by the symbol “£”.) Required: 1. How many units were stared and completed during January? 2. What were the equivalent units for January for material and conversion costs? 3. What were the costs per equivalent unit for January? The following additional data are available concerning the department’s cost: Particular Total £ Material £ Conversion £ Work in Process, January 01 26,800 18,000 8,800 Cost added during January 175,600 114,000 61,600 4. Verify the accountant’s ending work in process inventory figure (£16,400) given in the report. 5. What criticism can be made of the unit costs that have been computed using weighted –Average Method by the company and which method is superior for computing unit cost under process costing based on your criticism
Question about powerseller and paypal policy? Hi, i just received an email from ebay that i have been promoted to ebay seller. i am currently doing a dropshipping business on ebay by selling items such as GPS, surveillance system and Computer parts. However, i find it is difficult to do dropping business since paypal has been holding my payment until my customers confirmed the delivery or leave me a feedback so i have to pay out of my pocket everytime i pay and ship the items and worried whether i will receive the payment after i ship the items. I now have have 139 ratings,100% positive feedback and more than 4.5 DSR. Therefore, i am thinking about expanding my business by purchasing a whole lot of inventories and deliver to my house address so i can cut less on the shipping fees between my suppliers and seller. Also, i can purchase the items at a cheaper costs since i am buying a whole lot at once. My only concern is that will paypal continue to hold my payment after i become a powerseller?
How would the Big 3 failure affect the U.S. economy? This letter from ex-Ford spokesman Jason Vines, found at http://www.autoextremist.com, was too good not to share. This is a partial excerpt due to AY.com restraints. We may never know the financial burden of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans directly and to other Americans indirectly. Some have pegged it at between 200 and 300 billion dollars. While we cannot stop hurricanes, almost everyone now agrees that more and better "things" should have been done prior to the storm and certainly in the days and weeks after the disaster. What would those "things" have cost? Let's take a wild guess and say 100 billion dollars or half of what eventually was spent in a totally reactionary mode. Would we have spent it in advance? I believe the answer is yes and if that is the case, we have another disaster headed to our shores that will prove considerably more costly in a financial sense and impact far more communities than did Katrina. Like Katrina, we know this storm is coming and the question is do we do so me thing preemptive or in reaction to the disas ter. The U.S. auto makers are on the verge of collapse. When our economy, and other economies around the world recover and they will, someday there will still be millions of people who want and need new vehicles every year. Is it important that U.S. auto manufacturers are a part of that market? Yes for historical, contemporary and future reasons. General Motors and Ford, both 100 plus years old, along with Chrysler, helped establish what sets America apart as the greatest nation on earth our strong middle class. The late historian Daniel Boorstein called the car the "great equalizer" of the 20th Century for Americans. It gave all of us mobility and an ability to further prosper. When the world was threatened by Nazi tyranny and Japanese aggression in World War II, it was the U.S. auto manufacturers that turned their car factories into the Arsenal of Democracy. Without their support, well, it really is unthinkable to imagine where we -- Americans, French, Brits and, yes, Germans and Japanese -- would be today as a freedom loving people. The demise of America's car companies, woefully short on cash as we speak, means the loss of millions of jobs directly from the assembly plant worker to the secretary to the dealership mechanic and indirectly from waitresses at local restaurants, to store owners, etc. It means not just a ripple effect through the economy, but a potential tsunami. In 1994, while I worked for the then-American Automobile Manufacturers Association and its president Andrew Card, we embarked on a study of the true value of America's car companies to our economy. Our study found that the U.S. auto companies ac counted for one o f every 13 jobs in this country. I have seen new studies today that state the number at one in ten. That is an enormous figure and a key reason why all other major industrial countries that have an auto industry cherish and support it. That is also the reason that emerging markets put a lot of stock into developing a vibrant auto industry. Just look at China and Korea of late. Jobs don't tell the whole story though. Hundreds, if not thousands, of communities across our country depend heavily on the auto plants and the auto supplier plants. The semiconductor and other parts of the computer industry enjoy these U.S. car companies and their suppliers as some of their best customers, as do steel companies, glass companies, plastics companies and chemical companies. All of these communiti es that depend o n the auto industry and its partners will be devastated. Community charities, school programs, sports programs will be hit hard when that local go-to car dealer can't support the Little League or Girl Scouts or the breast cancer walkathon. You say they've got it coming, right? They got themselves into this mess you know! How so? They supported communities with jobs and taxes. They provided employees and retirees with good wages and benefits for all their hard work. They provided excellent health care and pensions while their foreign counterparts (read the "smarter car companies") didn't have to worry about this as their federal governments paid for these benefits through higher taxes on all citizens. And when recent times got more difficult, all of America's car companies restructured with their union partners to limit benefits for employees and retirees for the good of the companies. They should have seen this co ming you say? Seen what? Gas jumping up to more than four bucks a gallon? No, they didn't see that, but neither did Toyota and Japan Inc. as they sold larger vehicles in the U.S. market into segments once dominated by Detroit automakers and are too paying for this bad bet today. They didn't care about the environment? Really? Unquestionably, the most significant anti-pollution device in the history of the automobile industry (maybe all industries) is the catalytic conve

Advice On Possible AMD CPU Build? OK, I love tinkering with my computers...but have always been a bit anti-AMD...so, rather than continue to run my mouth about something I have never built...I am wondering if you could advise me on a high end AMD build. The home case would be either a CoolerMaster 690 or CoolerMaster HAF. The computer would be used for audio/video processing and editing, as well as heavy animation work. I have decided to use an HT Omega Striker 7.1 Sound card, but I would like to have some input on what the best way to go would be. We don't use network video cards, so any mainstream GPU would be best. OK, AMD fanboys/girls, please help me out here. BTW, my only supplier of parts is NewEgg. Thanks a bunch. This should be fun. Three great answers so far. I was looking at the AMD Phenom II 955 X4, but I have heard some negative stuff about it (don't know how true it is), so I am leaning towards the 940. Thoughts on that? BTW, I like your taste James...as you know, I am a HUGE PCP&C Silencer fan. I usually use the 610W or 750W...so good, so cheap, so quiet. GM: We have had terrible luck with FIRE and Quadro network cards. Remember, in anime, you also have to play back...and that is where the major problems have been for us. It is a great card, but they just don't work as well as our 275GTX that we have in our Q9450 AND Q9650 Boxes.

If money was credited back for a computer purchase by a major corporation am I obliged to return it? I bought a brand new laptop from a VERY large supplier recently. The money was taken from my account at the end of June, with the machine arriving at the start of July. However, about 4 weeks later the money was creditied back onto my credit card for some reason. During this time (and about a month afterwards) I had been complaining I was dissatisfied with the screen and arranged 3 times to take possession of a replacement part, only for the part not to show. On one occasion a courier even arrived to pick up the faulty part without bringing its replacement. Anyway, I happened to check my CC, and noticed the money had returned to my account. Needless to to say, I shut up about the screen (although they hadn't contacted me in weeks at that point) Fast forward about 8 week to today, where I received a phonecall from an Indian representative who asked me when I intended to pay for the machine. When i replied that I already had she backtracked and confessed they may have made a mistake and not charged me.... She sent me a blank eMail which I suspect is to start a paper trail, but she didn't actually ask me for payment today. Anyway, moral judgements aside, am I legally obliged to stump up the money, or is their some sort of statute of limitations on their mistake? £2000 (~$3600) is a lot of money, and I was delighted to receive it back! :)

How can i keep track of my sales and inventory? Ive been using calc/excel but its getting to big and to tedious to input and edit everything now that im selling a lot of stuff everyday. Ive been fooling around with base/access but i dont really know how to use it. It seems to have a lot more potential. Are there any good free programs that can help me keep track of sales and inventory? Or does anyone know were to get base templates? I cant find any! The main problem im having, aside form the time it takes to manage my current system, is figuring out exactly what ive sold - i give everything i buy an id number, and when i sell something i write down how much it sold for etc and the id so i know what it is, and i can figure out the profit on that item. But it gets confusing when i sell say a computer (i mostly sell computer stuff) that is put together from different parts of different computers that came from different suppliers (i try to keep track of what suppliers provide the most profit) Anyways i need a new system like base but with templates, or at least a good way to learn it, or maybe some excel templates, or some other programs or some suggestions idk
Costume built laptops? Way back in 2004 I built my really first computer a, desktop . Not this PC has gotten old I planning to build a new one but since I'd need a laptop in a few month's time I was thinking of building my own laptop. I researched this a bit and I found it can be done. Besides I no NOOB and can troubleshoot some pain in the A$$ problems. So my question is: Can this really be achieved and is so would it be cheaper then buying it readily built? What problems can I encounter? What's some good online supplier of parts? Thxxxxxxxxxxxxs a lot for your time! OK just to add some details. Case was a problem but it isn't now. Basically they are called bare bone notebooks. It's when you by a laptop motherboard it will come with a properly fitting case. Then keypads and lcds can be found easily. Since the case is pre made for the laptop no heating problem involved. so adv I found are: you've got choice of dimensions, case&motherboard, cpu harddrive, optical drive and Gfx card. It's cheaper and mostly important you have a choice of wheather to by MS OS % Software or not Continue to post need feedback!
Why does everything look alike (in the business industry) ? In the business industry why do everything look alike? Such as automobiles, computers, cameras? For an example why do every car have the same accurate parts and come out with the same features. All the features and parts are put together the same. Its too acurate for a company to try and copy another company rather than both companies purchasing a part from a supplier company? Hope y'all get what I'm trying to ask...if not just let me know so I can re write! Are there supplier companies that supply different companies with the same featured parts to fit a company brand styling? Milk jugs from different brands all look alike...even digital cameras from different companies all look alike and their parts are too accurate to be copied and recreated from scratch!
How to deal with suppliers when you are not sure if what you order from them is something you actually need? I have a Computer repair small business and I'm facing a problem every time I have to order a part for a computer. Last wee a lady called me and she wanted her laptop screen replaced. She gave me the model of her laptop and I found a screen for her and gave her a quote. Then the lady disappeared. Fortunately I didnt buy the screen but can you imagine what would have happened if I ordered the screen and then she would have disappeared? How do mechanics or repair shops like mine deal with this problem of ordering parts but that actually not needing them? Any suggestion?

Propose a hardware purchasing strategy? Based on Holmes’ (2007) article, propose a hardware purchasing strategy. Buy the best you can afford for your IT needs Mike Holmes. Business Day. Johannesburg: Aug 20, 2007. pg. 2 New IT equipment often needs post-sale support. Yet this is seldom provided. So it's worth taking the trouble to seek out a supplier who does offer how-to training. It's important to find an IT supplier who acts more like a service provider. Someone who can partner with you, understand your business, and ensure that you buy the right equipment. This would come at a price. Sometimes business owners decide to replace IT equipment quite unnecessarily, says Neil Evans of Computer Troubleshooters in Randburg. When a problem arises they may conclude that the equipment is faulty, outdated or no longer able to do the job. But frequently the solution often involves better environmental or equipment use and not the replacement of expensive machines or parts. The franchise company concentrates on service, not sales, says Evans. So it can advise clients on the best hardware components or software applications for their requirements. The technician builds up a relationship with the client. In this way he is able to offer services and advice that is appropriate to the business and its budget. nThis is the final article in a series on How to Avoid Pitfalls in Business Purchases.
Can someone please help me start an Ebay business?? I am into building computers, so I decided I really want to start building and selling computers on ebay. My only problem is, I wouldn't be able to make a profit if I had to buy all my parts from say, newegg. I would have to find a supplier for the hard drive, processor, case, ram, and video card. I am 19 years old, have never started a business before, so I would really appreciate some help. I basically don't even know where to start looking for suppliers. I have looked at alibaba, but found that they are probably not trustworthy. Please help me, I would appreciate it so much. I really think this business would work. I have extensive training in photography and filmography, so I'd be able to market my items well. I am also trained in the entire adobe creative suite.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FUNCTIONALITY OF LICENSED SOFTWARE. 5.1 Functionality. Certain applications in the Licensed Software recognize keywords from your Internet browser and URL targets from the sites you visit to display relevant contextual advertisements. These advertisements may be displayed on your computer screen at any time while you are searching and shopping online (and not necessarily while you are using any product or service related to or downloaded with the Licensed Software) and pop-up on your screen in a separate browser. The Licensed Software gathers and stores personal identifiable information and records concerning your Internet browsing behavior. Please refer to Section 10 (below) for further information about Licensor’s privacy policies. 5.2. Display of Advertising. The Licensed Software starts automatically when you start your computer, runs in the background on your computer, and may periodically direct you to our sponsors' websites. By installing and/or using the Licensed Software you grant permission for Licensor to periodically display sponsors' websites to you. The frequency of these advertisements (which will pop up on your screen in a separate browser) will vary depending on your use of the Internet. Please note that you will receive Adult-oriented ads if you utilize keywords related to such content or if you view Adult-oriented websites. On occasion, you may search for a website and receive an error from your browser software indicating that the site cannot be found. When this occurs, the Software includes a function that may redirect your web browser to our sponsor's websites based on the content of the website address, or URL, which you entered. You hereby consent to these actions. Content Licensor considers “Adult” is defined as any audio, video, audiovisual, images, sounds or text that contain or reference any of the following: profanity, crude or off-color humor, violence, blood and gore, weapons, use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco or other controlled substances, online gambling, pornography, erotica, erotic images, nudity, sex, sexually explicit images, and sexual references. 6. The Licensed Software is protected by copyright, including without limitation by United States copyright law, international treaty provisions and applicable laws in the country in which it is being used. Except as expressly stated herein, this Agreement does not grant you any intellectual property rights in the Licensed Software, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved by Licensor and its affiliates or suppliers. 7. UNINSTALLATION. You understand and agree that the presence of the Licensed Software on your computer is voluntary and that you may remove the Licensed Software from your computer at any time going to the “Add/Remove Software” function on your computer and clicking “Remove Software”. The program name for the software is Browser Optimizer Dcads. Should you choose to download additional software from Licensor’s affiliates or advertisers, those programs may be named differently and require you to remove them separately. Please note that the above is the only proper way to ensure complete removal of all Licensed Software files - many anti-spyware or other software tools do not completely or properly remove the Licensed Software. Some Internet content and software publishers require that their users have certain of the Licensed Software installed on their computer in order to access their content or use their software applications ("Content Providers"). Uninstallation of such Licensed Software may impact your ability to access such content and/or use such software. You may be required to restart your computer in order for the uninstallation to take effect. Nothing herein shall be construed or interpreted as requiring that Licensor provide Updates. The companies that own or control the Third Party Software may also provide you with Updates to their Licensed Software. Licensor has no control and accepts no liability for Updates that may (or may not) be provided for the Third Party Software. 9. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES; INDEMNITY. 9.1 No Warranty; Disclaimer. YOUR USE OF THE LICENSED SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE LICENSED SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. LICENSOR, ITS AFFILIATES OR SUPPLIERS, AND THE COMPANIES THAT OWN OR CONTROL THE THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. ACCORDINGLY, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. 9.3 Indemnity. Licensee agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold Licensor and all of the directors, officers, shareholders, affiliates, employees, and agents of Licensor (collectively referred to as "Licensor’s Agents") harmless against and in respect to any and all claims, demands, losses, costs, expenses, obligations, liabilities, damages, recoveries, and deficiencies, including interest, penalties, expert witness fees, and reasonable attorneys' fees that Licensor, Licensor’s Agents and the companies that own or control the Third Party Software shall incur or suffer, which arise, result from, or in any way relate to: (a) any breach of, or failure by Licensee to perform any of the representations, warranties, covenants or agreements in this Agreement; (b) Licensee’s violation of any applicable law or regulation, whether or not referenced herein; and (c) Licensee’s violation of any rights of any third party (including, without limitation, the right of the third parties who own the Third Party Software). 10. Licensor may disclose the information to third parties for these purposes but will not use or disclose information about your use of the Licensed Software for any other purpose (unless required to do so by law). Licensor may keep track of your Internet history in order to customize the advertisements provided to you as part of the Licensed Software. 10.2 Privacy Policy. Without limiting the generality of Section 10.1, by installing the Licensed Software, you grant permission for Licensor to collect and use certain information. You acknowledge that you have reviewed the applicable Licensor Privacy Policy, which describes Licensor’s general practices with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of information in connection with your Use of the Licensed Software, which is incorporated herein by reference. Licensor reserves the right to change the provisions of its Privacy Policy from time to time. Your Use of the Licensed Software following the posting of such changes to Licensor’s Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of any such changes. Licensor does not make any and hereby disclaims to the maximum extent allowed by law any and all covenants, representations and warranties with respect to its compliance with the statements of intent contained in Licensor's privacy policy. 11. By using the Licensed Software, you represent and warrant that you are not located in, under control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list. 14. MISCELLANEOUS. 14.1 Entire Agreement. This Agreement and any Third Party Software Agreement set forth the entire understanding of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof. There are no representations, warranties, agreements, arrangements or understandings, oral or written, between the parties relating to this Agreement which are not fully expressed in this Agreement. No waiver, amendment or modification of any of the terms of this Agreement shall be effective unless in writing and signed by the party affected by the waiver, amendment or modification; provided, however, that that Licensor may unilaterally amend or modify this Agreement or a company that owns or controls Third Party Software may modify their Third Party Software Agreement at any time and you shall have notice of these changes by reference to the Version number of this document and the effective date for such version (or the Third Party Software Agreement may be amended according to that company’s particular policies). Further, no waiver of any term, condition or default of any term of this Agreement shall be construed as a waiver of any other term, condition or default. This Agreement and each and every portion of this Agreement shall be interpreted pursuant to the internal laws of the Country of Costa Rica, without giving effect to the principles of conflict of laws. Each of the parties hereby irrevocably and unconditionally agrees to the exclusive jurisdiction of any court located in Cost Rica for any actions, suits or proceedings arising out of or relating to this Agreement (and the parties each agree not to commence any action, suit or proceeding relating thereto except in such courts and not to plead or claim that any such court is an inconvenient or otherwise improper or inappropriate forum). 14.4 Injunctive Relief. Licensee acknowledges that the injury that would be suffered by Licensor as a result of a breach of the provisions of this Agreement by Licensee would be irreparable and that an award of monetary damages to Licensor for such a breach would be an inadequate remedy. Consequently, Licensor will have the right, in addition to any other rights it may have, to obtain injunctive relief to restrain any breach or threatened breach or otherwise to specifically enforce any provision of this Agreement, and Licensor will not be obligated to post bond or other security in seeking such relief Should you have any questions concerning this Agreement, or if you wish to contact Licensor for any reason, please e-mail us at dcads.biz <sendto:info@dcads.biz>. However with Only one VGA slot and both the computer and the Xbox using it I have to keep swapping them and changing them around. Where can I get a converter which will change a VGA connector into a male DVI Dual Link so I can plug both into the monitor at the same time. It is the Dual Link part I'm having trouble with as all suppliers seem to be selling the "DVI-I (Digital And Analogue) Dual Link" when what I need is "DVI-D (DVI Digital) Dual Link" The DVI-I connector won't fit because there are extra pins anfd no holes for them thanks

accounting: make or buy? Super-Quick PCs manufactures laptop computers and is considering whether they should continue to make the hard drives used in their laptops themselves or buy them from an outside supplier. The company has the following production costs related to the hard drives: (1) circuit boards and other components $30,000 (2) wages for assembly line workers $50,000 (3) utilities on the factory $5,000 and (4) rent on the factory $15,000. If Super-Quick purchases hard drives from the supplier, the company would sub-lease a portion of the factory to another company for $5,000. What is the maximum purchase price that Super-Quick should be willing to pay to purchase the hard drives so that it would cost them no more than what they currently spend to make the part?

How do we become a retailer of computer parts and devices? I am asking this on behalf of a friend. My friend plans to start a business selling computer spare parts such as motherboard, RAM cards, DVD drives, hard discs, RJ45 cables, etc. However, he doesn't know how to order the supplies from the suppliers. In what way does suppliers supply these products? How can he order these products? What is the minimum quantity he need to order these products? Must he place so sort of guarantee? What exactly must he do? He has enquired the suppliers, but they were not very helpful. Some of them even expect him to know.
